First questions...

So, I guess I have a couple of questions that I want to ask you today.
Remember, your grade will be based on how thoughtful you are about your answers.

1. As we have been reading about apartheid in South Africa, what are you thoughts on Nelson Mandela? (1 paragraph).

2. What does this quote mean to you?
There is no easy walk to freedom anywhere, and many of us will have to pass through the valley of the shadow of death again and again before we reach the mountaintops of our desires.....

HI, THIS IS JUSTICE.I THINK THAT NELSON MANDELA IS A VERY STRONG MAN BECAUSE HE TOOK TIME TO HELP HIS PEOPLE AND HE ALSO TALKED ABOUT WHY APARTIED IS NOT GOOD BECAUSE IT'S NOT'S FAIR THAT BLACKS AND WHITES HAVE TO BE SEPRARTED. MANDELA IS A MAN THAT IS STRONG NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS. IF MANDELA DIES, HE DIES A HERO, A SURVIOR, AND ONE OF THE GREATEST LEADERS OF ALL BLACK HISTORY.

THAT QUOTE MEANS THAT WHATEVER YOU WANT, YOU HAVE TO WORK HARD TO GET IT BECAUSE IF YOU DON'T THEN YOU'LL END UP IN A HORRILBE CONDITION AND YOU DON'T WANT TO BE IN THAT STATE OF MATTER. SO WHATEVER YOU WANT MAKE SURE YOU WORK HARD TO GET IT.

Wats up this is Fredrick Douglas

1.) I think that Nelson Mandela was smart.I think he was smart because for him standing up for his people. His people stood up for by voteing him as South Africas president. Nelson Mandela really help his country from alot of problems and situations. Like when the goverment started to kick out some civilans and put the whites that just move in. Now thats just wrong. How can you just kick somebody out their own house??? That they bought!!!!!!!! Now thats just crazy to me.

2.) That quote means that you have to go through triles and tribulations. Thats what it means.

what going down ,anne frank was here

I think nelson mandela is a great person who made a differences toward people especially in south africa. The APARTHEID that is going on is wrong and I think what mandela did was such a great thing to do to stop hatfed against races.[especially blacks ,jews, ]. Why are people being discriminated by their color ? he spent about 26 years in prison just so others can have freedom.

I think the quote means you are not going to get freedom easy and have to fight for it and stand up for what you believe in even if you stand alone.

Marcus Garvey
I think that Nelson Mandela is a great person and that he fought continuously for his civil rights. He might of put his freedom first bu t he still loved his children dearly.Nelson Mandela to me was a great civil rights leader. He made many acomplishments during his lifetime and many downfalls. He also tried to stop apartheid in South Africa,he traveled around the world and was successful. We have been studying Nelson Mandela and to me he is a great man and I hpe u think that too.Ya dig.

I think that that comment that Nelson Mandela made was true.No man or woman has had a easy walk to freedom,it takes courage, wisdom, and great integrity to get to where u want to in kife. Also,u will have to pass through the valleys of the shadows of death to get to the mountain top.Just like Dr.Martin Luther King did.

HELLO MY NAME IS FREEDOM AND WHAT I THINK OF MR.NELSON MANDELA,IS THAT HE IS A MAN WITH HEART WHO WANTS TO HELP SOUTH AFRICA AND WHO DOES NOT WANT TO TAKE PART IN APARTHIDE. mR.MANDELa who is an south african himself wants to help people and not neglect them for who they are. I would say that mandela is an man with pride and takes pride in is his people. mandela makes people think with pride like he does. Mandela gives words that are beautiful and easy to understand them when he is giving his powerful words out to the world.when people listen to mandelas words they dont seem dumfounded, theyfill up with pride like he does.

This quote means to me that what ever you want you have to work your hardest.

Hello, my name is Dred Scott. Nelson Mandela is a very blessed man. He made sure that everyone had their rights. After he came out of jail, he still continued to fight against racism and predujice in South Africa from the Dutch and the British.

The qoute Mr.Mandela wrote means alot to me. It means that people will die one day. Always say godforbid though. Also, sometimes you have to force your way to freedom.

1 My name is Sojourner Truth and as I have been reading through this book about Nelson Mandela. My thoughts are that Nelson is a great person/president. I also think that he should stay as president.

2 My thought about this quote is that we should try our best to acheive our goals because things we want dont come just like that (snap). Plus if you acheive your goal great things would come in life. Thank You and have a good day!

Hello this is Alice Walker.

1.Nelson Mandela was a very important person as a father and a hero. He has won the NOBEL PEACE PRIZE but unfortunatly his son died January 2005 from A.I.D.S

2.This quote means that you dont get what you want right away because just like Nelson Mandela did he work HARD for your rights

~GO NELSON MANDELA~

msjacobexplore said...

Hi,I am Langston Hughes

My thoughts about Nelson Mandela is that he was Beatiful Speaker. He helped apartheid break down. He won the Nobel Peace Prize for all the peace he made with a lot of people. Plus he saved trillons of African-Americans from being inslaved by thousands of europeans. Nelson Mandela is the greatest.

What Nelson Mandela means when he says that us people have to go throught a lot problems in our life.

msjacobexplore said...

Hi name is Pablo Neruda I like this so we could tell our side of the story

msjacobexplore said...

Hi my name is Cherry Valane. My thought about Nelson Mandela Nelson is that he is caring. He went to jail just to save his country. Nelson Mandela is also a important man because he won the Nobal Piece Price. He won the Nobal Piece Price because he tried to bring back peice to his country. He wanted to do something about the aparteid. The aparteid is something bad that happened in South Africa between the blacks and the whites. The whites got to live in the cities and the blacks had to live in something like cities but only black people could live their but the blacks had to work in the cities. They got pai donly a little bit of money and the whites got paid a lot more than the blacks. Nelson wanted to do something about it but not in violece

1.Hi this is Toni Morrison, I think that Nelson Mandela is a very intelligent man and I am glad that he chose to fight against aparthied. Aparthied is a very terrible thing and it should be stopped. Mr.Mandela is a brave man and I am very glad and thankful that he did not quit and let anything get in his way. I think that evry single person and espeacially we black people should acknowledge the things that Nelson Mandela has done for us.I want to say thanks to Mr.Mandela for fighting for our rights.

2.I think that Mr.Mandela was right for saying that quote. My father always told me that you have to work for everything and nothing you want comes easy, and is very true. I think he said that because he realized as he was fighting for our rights, that it wasnt going to be an easy fight. That quote means alot and I think that everybody should know about that qoute so they can realize the struggles that they will go trough in life.

Hi, this is Harriet Tubman. I think Nelson Mandela was a great man fighting for his people. I think Nelson was a God sent from heaven.

I think the quote means that you have to go down the death path to get freedom. I think you just can't get it....you have to believe it.

msjacobexplore said...

Truth:Mandela is a couragous and brave man. No one would sacifice their life for their country but he did. He went to jail for 25 years because he defended his country. He is also a loving and loved man for many reasons. One reason is that he loved his country. In return his coutry made him President of SouthAfrica. He was a man who tried to stop apathied.
2.I think it means it is not easy to get freedom. You have to go through series of steps to make it happen .It also it takes lots of thinking to make freedom happen. The last thing it takes is sacrifice.Nelson Mandela went to jail cause he sacrificed for his country

msjacobexplore said...

Hi it's me Freedom Writer my thoughts about Nelson Mandela is that he is a great man. He stood up for his people (black people) through out hard times. Even though the white people put him jail for about 25 years for trying to solve something he thought was wrong, and was trying to fix. Mandela's wife was crazy enough to divorce him for not being home so often. I like him for putting the divorce with his wife to the back of his head and kept on trying to stop apartheid in South Africa. Nelson wife should of know that he was out the house that often because he was stopping apartheid. The last thing I like abot him is that he never, ever, ever, GAVE UP!!!! The qoute that Nelson Mandela said means to me is that getting freedom from anything isn't easy. The people that help fight for it have to go through a lot of stuff to get the freedom you want. Many of the people who fight for their fedoom or yours die while do it, or probaly got the their goal of getting freedom and lived to see that day they got it. These people take very big risks trying to get freedom. Many slaves will thank that person/group for helping to get the freedom they wanted.

yeeeeah this is ya girl rosa park and i wanna discuss my
thoughts i had on the A.N.C
and why the members of that group got so fustrated. the reason they got so mad/angry/fustrated was because nothing was happening. they would protest day and night and nothing would work so they set bad examples on us blacks by giving up can you believe that. The "whites" already think of us nonchalantly. Now they're gonna think of us even less.

.I would sa
"thank you for everything you done, you really made a change. you stuck around when no one else could or when no one had courage. just like me
rosa parks when I refused to give up my seat on a bus.

.why did you stick around when no one else did? how did your parents react when you told

msjacobexplore said...

My name is Sojerner Truth and I think that the members are fustrated because after all this hard work and boycotts nothing has happened. You would think that after 20 years something would happen but nothing. That must be tragic.

If I had the chance to meet Nelson Mandela I would ask him the following questions:
. Do you enjoy being a leader?
. Who is your rolemodel?
. Does everyone look up to you?
. Do you think that when you die it would become national and why?
and
. Would you like to be the president again?
Thank You!

Hi I am Langston Hughes
Today at this very daay Nelson Mandela was in jail today all because he tried to stop apartheid. I will tell you the the heart breaking conditions in the jail Nelson Mandela was living in during his time. Nelson Mandale`s cell was only "7x7".His cell was very small. The sad thing is that their are no white people in prison.
